We build new Odoo modules when standard Odoo and Studio can't do the job. This page covers what we can build, what you get with every module, and how we keep it safe to upgrade. For configuration, Studio, custom fields and reports, see our Odoo customization page.
| You probably need a custom module when… | You probably don't when… |
|---|---|
| The process is unique to your business and core to how you work | A setting or standard app already does it |
| You need logic Studio can't handle (calculations, rules, automation across apps) | You only need a few extra fields or a simple report (Studio is enough) |
| You need to connect Odoo to another system | An existing app from the Odoo App Store fits |

Do I own the code for my custom module?
Yes. You receive the full source code of every module we build for you, and you own it. Agree this in writing before the project starts.
Will my custom module work after an Odoo upgrade?
It should, if it was built the right way. We extend Odoo instead of changing its core code, keep custom code in separate modules and write tests, so an upgrade can be checked quickly. Modules usually still need a review and small updates when you move to a new Odoo version.
How long does it take to build a custom module?
It depends on scope. A simple approval flow or report is much quicker than a connector to an outside system with its own rules. After a short discovery call we give you a written scope and timeline.
Can you fix or update a module someone else built?
Often yes. We first review the code to check its quality and whether it follows Odoo standards. Then we tell you whether it is better to fix it, update it for a newer Odoo version, or rebuild it.
Custom module or Odoo Studio, which do I need?
Studio is enough for a few extra fields, simple views or a basic report. You need a custom module when the logic is more complex, such as calculations, rules across several apps, or a connection to another system.
